A diagnosis of type 1 diabetes is a considerable burden for those affected and their families &#8211; especially when they are young. Further development of drug-based insulin and immunomodulatory therapies and increasing advances in technology mean that ever more innovative treatment options are available to achieve internationally defined target values.
