The fact that migraine therapy is changing is also reflected in the recent publication of the updated S1 guideline “Treatment of migraine attacks and prophylaxis of migraine”. Although triptans are still the standard medication for treating acute migraine attacks, new active ingredients are expanding the treatment arsenal. Progress has also been made in migraine prophylaxis – for example, two new oral CGRP receptor antagonists have established themselves as treatment alternatives. These are just some of the innovations that should contribute to optimized care for migraine patients. <\/strong><\/p>\n\n
