It is estimated that around one in three people in Europe is colonized with <em>H. pylori <\/em>. An <em>H. pylori infection<\/em>can lead to chronic gastritis and, if left untreated, increases the likelihood of developing stomach cancer and peptic ulcers. Therefore, there is always an indication for treatment if <em>H. pylori<\/em> is detected.
