Cela ouvre-t-il la voie \u00e0 des diagnostics plus pr\u00e9cis et donc \u00e0 des options th\u00e9rapeutiques plus cibl\u00e9es ?<\/strong><\/p>\n<p> <!--more--> <\/p>\n<p><em>(ag) <\/em>Comment les maladies mentales peuvent-elles \u00eatre diagnostiqu\u00e9es plus pr\u00e9cis\u00e9ment \u00e0 l&#8217;avenir ? Des scientifiques de l&#8217;Institut d&#8217;ing\u00e9nierie biom\u00e9dicale de l&#8217;EPFZ, en collaboration avec l&#8217;h\u00f4pital Charit\u00e9 de Berlin, ont pr\u00e9sent\u00e9 une approche qui permet de transf\u00e9rer l&#8217;activit\u00e9 c\u00e9r\u00e9brale imag\u00e9e de sujets dans un mod\u00e8le math\u00e9matique qui indique ensuite s&#8217;il s&#8217;agit ou non d&#8217;une schizophr\u00e9nie. En cas de r\u00e9sultat positif, une diff\u00e9renciation suppl\u00e9mentaire en sous-groupes est effectu\u00e9e. Concr\u00e8tement, le mod\u00e8le &#8220;simple&#8221; selon les chercheurs calcule la force du couplage entre trois r\u00e9gions c\u00e9r\u00e9brales s\u00e9lectionn\u00e9es. Il v\u00e9rifie l&#8217;intensit\u00e9 de la communication entre ces domaines et permet ainsi de tirer des conclusions sur la gravit\u00e9 et la nature de la maladie des patients schizophr\u00e8nes.<\/p>\n<h2 id=\"etude-sur-83-sujets\">\u00c9tude sur 83 sujets<\/h2>\n<p>Le mod\u00e8le a d\u00e9j\u00e0 \u00e9t\u00e9 test\u00e9 sur 41 patients atteints de schizophr\u00e9nie et 42 participants en bonne sant\u00e9. Ils devaient regarder et m\u00e9moriser des images (la m\u00e9moire de travail est souvent alt\u00e9r\u00e9e chez les schizophr\u00e8nes) pendant que leur activit\u00e9 c\u00e9r\u00e9brale \u00e9tait enregistr\u00e9e. La force de couplage des trois aires c\u00e9r\u00e9brales diff\u00e9rait nettement non seulement entre le groupe de patients et le groupe de contr\u00f4le, mais \u00e9galement au sein du groupe de schizophr\u00e8nes lui-m\u00eame. Il en est ressorti trois sous-groupes pr\u00e9sentant des sch\u00e9mas d&#8217;activit\u00e9 c\u00e9r\u00e9brale diff\u00e9rents qui, lorsqu&#8217;ils \u00e9taient compar\u00e9s aux sympt\u00f4mes cliniques, correspondaient \u00e0 la gravit\u00e9 de la schizophr\u00e9nie ou la repr\u00e9sentaient.<\/p>\n<p>Bien entendu, selon les chercheurs, ce mod\u00e8le, bien qu&#8217;encourageant, est loin d&#8217;\u00eatre pr\u00eat \u00e0 \u00eatre utilis\u00e9 dans la pratique.
