Depression is the most common mental illness in the 65-80 age group. However, depressive disorders are not always correctly recognized, as patients usually report non-specific somatic complaints. Dementia is not quite as common as depression, but also has a significant impact on the daily life and independence of those affected and requires comprehensive care. In contrast, delirium is a temporary state of confusion that can be triggered by various factors.
