Our understanding of the pathophysiology of psoriasis has improved significantly in recent years, and numerous therapeutic targets have been identified. This has recently led to the development of innovative active ingredients in oral formulations, with zasocitinib—a TYK2 inhibitor—and icotrokinra—an oral peptide that selectively inhibits the interleukin-23 receptor (IL-23)—deserve special mention.
