Cutaneous lupus erythematosus (CLE) is a rare autoimmune disease with a heterogeneous spectrum of clinical manifestations on the skin. Prof. Dr. med. Luca Borradori, Chief Physician and Clinic Director of Dermatology at Inselspital Bern, gave an up-to-date overview of the diagnostic clarifications to be carried out in the event of a clinical suspicion of CLE and the treatment options available. With adequate disease management, many CLE patients can maintain a good quality of life.
