The “Big Four” therapies presented in this paper are among the most empirically studied disorder-specific therapies: Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), Schema Therapy (SFT), Mentalization-Based Therapy (MBT), and Transference-Focused Therapy (TFP).
All four therapeutic approaches mentioned are manualized procedures that have been empirically validated in randomized controlled trials (RCTs). Differences and similarities are explained.
