Renal cell car cinoma (RCC) and upper tract urothelial carcinoma ( UTUC) are two common but etiologically and histologically different tumor entities that both manifest themselves in the kidneys. Although the localization is identical, the development, prognostic factors and therapeutic approaches differ in many aspects.
