Music therapy is becoming increasingly important as part of integrative treatment approaches and complementary procedures in cancer treatment. The workshop held by a music therapist from Inselspital Bern at this year’s SOHC in Basel used examples from clinical practice and self-awareness exercises to demonstrate the effectiveness of music therapy, which can be used both in palliative care and to accompany or support the healing process in cancer, as confirmed by scientific studies such as a study published in July 2025 Frontiers in Immunology .
