The treatment goals for bronchial asthma have changed in recent decades – whereas in the past the main aim was to ensure the patient’s survival and alleviate severe symptoms, the focus is now on achieving asthma control. In addition, the therapeutic goal of disease remission has been added, which does not mean a complete cure, but goes beyond asthma control. In this context, highly effective biologics play a prominent role.
