A list of clinical trials currently conducted in Swiss hospitals is available on the website of the Swiss Association of Research Ethics Committees.

Among other things, the efficacy and safety of the antiviral remdesivir is being investigated in two randomized Phase III trials involving clinics in Ticino and Geneva. Whether treatment with the malaria drug hydroxychloroquine at an early stage can prevent the rate of a second hospitalization of sick patients is being researched at the University Hospital in Lausanne. There is a research project on the convalescence phase after COVID-19 at the High Mountain Clinic Davos. The Lucerne Cantonal Hospital is participating in the Europe-wide COMET (“COvid MEdicaTion”) study, in which the influence of certain drugs (e.g. ACE inhibitors, angiotensin receptor blockers, NSAIDs) on the clinical course in patients with COVID-19 is being investigated. An evaluation of the sensitivity and specificity of various anti-SARS corona virus 2 antibody tests is being conducted at the Institute of Infectious Diseases, University of Bern. The University Hospital Zurich is involved in an international study of COVID-19 in patients with cardiovascular disease or risk factors (PCHF-COVICAV Registry).

A complete list of currently conducted studies at clinics in Switzerland is available at: https://swissethics.ch/en/covid-19/approved-projects
