Excessive sweating can significantly impair quality of life. Gravimetry and the iodine-starch test are important diagnostic methods. Various options are available for the conservative treatment of primary hyperhidrosis. Topical preparations containing aluminum chloride hexahydrate are the most commonly used. In addition, glycopyrronium bromide cream is now available as a topical anticholinergic. Other interventions include botulinum toxin injections, systemic anticholinergics, iontophoresis, and thermal procedures.
