Persistent disease activity and cumulative inflammation in rheumatoid arthritis (RA) are associated with the progression of atherosclerosis and cardiovascular events, whereas effective inflammation control is associated with lower event rates. However, this association may not be consistent across all patients. A study investigated whether gender and ACPA status have an influence.
