In competitive badminton, injuries can impair performance and training. Researchers therefore examined muscular asymmetries, local muscle oxygenation, and sport-specific performance parameters in female badminton players of varying skill levels. Differences were observed between professional and recreational players, including variations in the thickness of the vastus lateralis muscle and bilateral muscle desaturation.
