According to the World Health Organization (WHO), 19% of the factors that influence health, well-being, and productivity are related to characteristics of the built environment [1]. Most people spend more than half of their working hours indoors [2], and there is growing evidence that interior design is a relevant factor not only for well-being but also for work-related productivity. In a virtual reality pilot study, an innovative approach was used to investigate whether and how biophilic office design can increase visual attention and contribute to improved cognitive performance.
