Experts from various specialist disciplines questioned common myths about wound care and presented solutions to improve the care situation. One quintessence was that modern wound care requires a paradigm shift towards a process- and evidence-based strategy. Early intervention, qualified personnel and the targeted use of technologies such as outpatient negative pressure wound therapy systems or antimicrobial wound dressings have proven to be key factors for high-quality wound care.
