Despite numerous scoring systems, estimating the prognosis of chronic heart failure (HF) is a major challenge. The MECKI score is an established tool for risk assessment, but usually only takes rigid time windows into account. A more precise mapping of the course of the disease could be achieved using extended methods of “Topological Data Analysis” (TDA) and subsequent trajectory analysis.
