The interactive online platform “Reflux Cases” provides practice-relevant information about gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD). Its purpose is to provide continuing education and an exchange of experiences for primary care physicians and specialists. Every month GERD cases from practice are published here and commented by experts.
Gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD) is one of the most common diseases in Western industrialized countries. About one in five people regularly suffer from reflux symptoms. Many physicians are therefore frequently confronted with reflux patients. In recent years, the clinical spectrum of the disease has expanded significantly, which can complicate diagnosis and delay targeted therapy. In addition, new insights into the pathophysiology of the disease have been gained, leading to further development of recommendations for diagnosis and therapy.
For the best possible treatment of patients, continuous medical training therefore plays an important role in this area as well. For this reason, the interactive online platform “Reflux Cases” was established. This provides up-to-date knowledge about the clinical picture of GERD and enables practical training. Every month, cases from the practice are published on this platform to show different patient pictures and discuss treatment options. The case reports are commented on in each case. This is intended to share experiences that will ultimately find application in everyday medical practice.
We wish you insightful findings!
