Financing the Compensation Fund for Asbestos Victims Foundation has proved increasingly difficult in recent years. In order to secure it in the long term, the Federal Council has enacted an amendment to the Accident Insurance Act (UVG). As a result, Suva will be able to contribute to funding from 1.1.26, which was previously not possible due to the lack of a legal basis. If a patient is diagnosed with a work-related asbestos disease, the accident insurance company of the former employer must be informed.
