63-year-old with tracheobronchopathia osteoplastica

This case study concerns an elderly patient who was admitted to hospital due to a cough with bloody sputum. After lengthy investigations, a diagnosis of tracheobronchopathia osteoplastica was made. This is a rare, benign lesion of the airways characterized by multiple nodular proliferations of bone and/or cartilage tissue in the submucosa of the trachea and bronchi.
