Immunodeficiencies are not always diagnosed in childhood. In the case of classic warning signs such as recurrent infections that are difficult to treat, family history and detailed clinical examinations should therefore not be dispensed with, even in adults.
Marcus Kühn, MD, allergist and clinical immunologist at the St. Anna Clinic in Lucerne, presents the procedure for diagnosing immunodeficiency and discusses the case of his patient who was diagnosed with CVID (Common Variable ImmunoDeficiency) at age 52.
