With the new cooperation between aha! Allergy Center Switzerland and Nia Health, more sufferers in Switzerland should use the award-winning app in their daily lives. The focus is on the long-term improvement of the patients’ quality of life  as well as an improvement in disease management.

Symptoms of atopic dermatitis such as dry and sensitive skin, excruciating itching, and eczematous lesions can limit sufferers tremendously in their lifestyle. Every day, they face the challenge of coping with the disease physically and psychologically. Children in particular also often suffer from neurodermatitis – and their parents with them. In Switzerland, about 20% of young children are affected.

Patient education and digital support

The innovative medical software “Nia App” from the German company Nia Health GmbH offers parents of affected children and adult patients digital support in dealing with neurodermatitis as a supplement to treatment by dermatologists or pediatricians. As a professional partner, aha! Allergy Center Switzerland the app also for patients in Switzerland. Symptoms can be documented digitally in the app. Those affected also receive many tips and background knowledge on topics such as medicine and personal care.

Neurodermatitis app with pioneering character

Medical device manufacturer Nia Health is a 2019 spin-off of Charité Berlin. Their first product, the award-winning neurodermatitis app Nia, already provides daily support to thousands of patients and relatives in Germany, Switzerland and Austria. Nia is now the most widely used neurodermatitis app in German-speaking countries. The  certified app has been approved as a Class I medical device.

Forward-looking cooperation

The aha! Allergy Center Switzerland will advise Nia Health on the creation of scientifically validated content and materials in the future. Special conditions for the use of the Nia App are available to affected persons and parents who have used a service of the Foundation (training, camp, counseling at an aha! counseling center). Reem Alneebari, MD, dermatologist and co-founder of Nia Health, is looking forward to the collaboration: “With such a strong cooperation partner as aha! Allergiezentrum Schweiz, we have the opportunity to reach even more patients and sufferers together and make Nia available.” aha! Allergy Center Switzerland is Switzerland’s center of expertise in the field of allergy and focuses on the reactions of the respiratory tract, the digestive system and the skin to environmental stimuli. The foundation serves as an independent point of contact for those affected and carries out important public relations work.
