Liver cirrhosis – a term coined by the French doctor René Laënnec at the beginning of the 19th century – is the final stage of chronic liver disease. The connective tissue remodeling of the liver can usually be easily detected by ultrasound. Computer and magnetic resonance imaging are also important for the imaging examination of liver cirrhosis.
