The term sprue is used for two different diseases that are associated with chronic diarrhea: tropical sprue and celiac disease (gluten-sensitive enteropathy), formerly known as indigenous sprue [1]. This is a chronic disease of the small intestinal mucosa due to gluten intolerance. Imaging procedures play an important role in confirming the diagnosis.
