Do you know the phenomenon that a doctor looks more into the computer than at the patient? The time physicians spend on documentation and administration is high (often over 30 percent of time) and takes away from patient care. Frustration, loss of time and an increasing probability of errors are often the consequences. Innovative applications such as Rockethealth make the daily work of doctors and medical staff easier, so that they can once again concentrate on the essential core task of treating their patients. The mountain of administrative work is playfully reduced to a minimum.
Rockethealth is a tablet-optimized electronic medical record system and enables fast and intelligent documentation of patient information along the entire treatment process. Physicians can now keep the patient record in parallel during treatment and examination and document it efficiently on the iPad. Whether in the doctor’s office, on a home visit or in the hospital, Rockethealth heralds a new generation of modern medical history.
However, the focus is not only on the patient, but also on the service provider. Rockethealth continuously adapts to the user’s way of working – and not the other way around, as was previously the case with software in this field. The software is customizable and even learns as the application runs (e.g., through automatic suggestions based on user behavior).
Rockethealth can be easily integrated into existing IT systems via interfaces, both for outpatient service providers and in hospitals. Numerous practices are already using the software, for example, in combination with the doctors’ cash register software, and more are being added all the time. Some initial skepticism is quickly replaced by enthusiasm about the simple and intuitive usability of old and young alike. In addition, Rockethealth is the first medical record to generate structured data from the ongoing documentation process, which could be used for analysis and research in the future.
Rockethealth also sees itself as an innovative pioneer for the new demands of networking in healthcare. Rockethealth is ideally equipped to meet the requirements of the electronic patient dossier (EPD) thanks to digitized, structured data. The appropriate access rights and sufficient data protection are also taken care of. The integration of vital data from patient apps is another important aspect. Tech-savvy patients are already collecting vital signs and other health-related information on their smartphones or wearables. However, there is still a gap in the transmission of this data to the treating primary care physician. Rockethealth has already successfully tested the data transfer in a pilot project.
Rockethealth is developed by the Swiss startup Helmedica, based in Winterthur, and distributed through established partner companies. The experienced Rockethealth team combines physicians, IT and process experts.
