Despite a worldwide decline in the prevalence of Helicobacter pylori (H. pylori), the infection is still widespread. It is estimated that around one in three people in Europe is colonized with H. pylori . An H. pylori infectioncan lead to chronic gastritis and, if left untreated, increases the likelihood of developing stomach cancer and peptic ulcers. Therefore, there is always an indication for treatment if H. pylori is detected. Current study findings underline the high effectiveness of H. pylori eradication.
