Fish skin matrix for the treatment of complex ulcers

The treatment of complex wounds, particularly large and deep skin defects, is a considerable challenge and there is a need for innovative approaches. As various case reports from clinical practice show, the acellular fish skin of the Atlantic cod, for example, represents a valuable addition to the armamentarium for the treatment of complicated chronic ulcers of the lower legs and feet.
