In Switzerland, the regulatory framework for the digitalization of the healthcare system is a much-discussed topic. A few years ago, Lucerne Cantonal Hospital was the first hospital in a German-speaking country to introduce the “Epic” clinical information system, including access to information for GPs via an electronic patient record portal. An online survey was conducted among GPs in Central Switzerland to evaluate the transfer of information from the perspective of outpatient primary care providers. The results were published in 2025.
