GLP1-RA effectively improve blood glucose, weight and cardiovascular parameters, but are increasingly in focus due to possible additional side effects such as alopecia and neuropsychiatric effects. A large real-world analysis of pharmacovigilance data showed that the safety profiles of the individual active ingredients differ significantly. However, a causal relationship could not be proven; the results are considered hypothesis-generating and speak in favour of individualized drug selection and continuous monitoring of safety.
