If the cough, pain, difficulty swallowing or fever persists for more than four days or worsens, you need to take a closer look, consider using imaging techniques and, if necessary, consider antibiotics. However, in the spirit of antibiotic stewardship, antibiotics should not be used prematurely. Prof. Dr. med.
