The recommendations for the diagnosis and treatment of dementia published last year by the Swiss Memory Clinics (SMC) association are primarily aimed at primary care providers, emphasized Prof. Dr. med. Stefan Klöppel, Medical Director, University Clinic for Geriatric Psychiatry and Psychotherapy, Bern. To date, there is no causal treatment for dementia syndromes, but there are various measures to counteract the progression.
