Hyperglycemia leads to poorer clinical outcomes, with increased morbidity and mortality in both critically ill and non-critically ill people. Improving blood glucose levels reduces length of hospital stay, systemic infections and short- and long-term mortality. Egyptian physicians evaluated the efficacy of insulin degludec compared to insulin glargine and regular insulin in controlling blood glucose levels.
