In Switzerland, around 5,000 people are currently fitted with cochlear implants – and the trend is rising, particularly in the over-65 age group, according to data from the Swiss Cochlear Implant Register. Various research projects are being carried out on these high-tech devices with a view to optimizing technological aspects and clinical outcomes. Some of the latest study findings were presented at the SGORL spring meeting on June 5-6.
