Epidermolysis bullosa (EB) requires an interdisciplinary management approach tailored to the diagnosed EB subtype. Recently, new therapeutic approaches have been approved to improve symptomatic treatment. While a gel formulation containing a highly concentrated dry extract of birch bark received Swissmedic approval last year, Beremagen-Geperpavec is currently not approved in Switzerland—unlike in the EU and the U.S. Another innovative treatment option with FDA approval is Prademagen-Zamikeracel.
