Thanks to advances in imaging techniques, focal nodular hyperplasia of the liver is being detected with increasing frequency. Focal nodular hyperplasia is often an incidental finding. In some cases, patients may experience a sensation of pressure in the upper abdomen, but often they have no acute symptoms. If the condition is asymptomatic, regular follow-up examinations are sufficient; if symptoms are present, surgical resection should be considered.
