In 2015, the GINA guidelines in effect at that time primarily recommended as-needed treatment with a short-acting β2-agonist (SABA) for mild asthma. Over the past ten years, asthma treatment has undergone a profound transformation, culminating in the establishment of personalized biologic therapies for severe asthma.
