Respiratory syncytial virus (RSV) is increasingly recognized as a major pathogen in frail older adults and a cause of exacerbations of chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD). Although there are studies examining the burden in hospitalized COPD cohorts, there has been no work evaluating the burden in the outpatient setting in this group.
