Severe acute pancreatitis represents a persistent therapeutic challenge due to its unpredictable course and the lack of targeted pharmacological options. Despite improved supportive care, mortality remains high, especially in cases with persistent organ failure (OF) or necrosis. A recent study from China provides promising evidence for a new therapeutic approach.
