Acute pancreatitis is a life-threatening complication in patients with familial chylomicronemia syndrome. With olezarsen and plozasiran, two innovative drug candidates have been developed for which promising Phase III data are now available. With regard to patients with chronic pancreatitis and abdominal pain, interesting long-term data are available from a cohort study in which prompt surgery was compared with endoscopy as first-line therapy.
