Endometriosis affects many women of reproductive age and often leads to chronic pain, fertility problems and considerable restrictions in quality of life. Conventional therapies – from NSAIDs and hormone treatments to surgery – provide relief, but are sometimes associated with considerable side effects and risks of recurrence. Phytotherapeutics offer an interesting, well-tolerated approach: they can modulate inflammatory and hormonal imbalances, relieve pain and improve quality of life.
