When restless legs syndrome is actually behind “growing pains”. Which laboratory values should be specifically clarified. A review shows considerable overlap between the two disorders in childhood. Serotonin dysfunction, iron deficiency and vitamin D deficiency could be common causes. The article explains the clinical distinguishing features and provides practical tips for diagnosis and treatment in order to avoid misdiagnosis and unnecessary treatment.
