Asthma attacks caused by occupational exposure are very common in adults with asthma. Although previous studies have mainly focused on occupational asthma (OA), interest in work-exacerbated ast hma (WEA) has increased over the last two decades. A study from the Norwegian province of Telemark investigated the relationship between occupational risk factors and asthma exacerbations and estimated the impact on job change, sick leave and work ability.
