Yellow nail syndrome (YNS) is a rare disease associated with yellowing of the nails, pulmonary manifestations and lymphoedema. A clinical examination and examination of the fingernails can provide valuable information on pneumological diseases. Swyer-James syndrome (SJS) is a rare form of post-infectious bronchiolitis obliterans that usually occurs after viral respiratory infections. The typical radiological manifestation is a difference in lung translucency. The affected lung appears hypertransparent. Rare diseases such as YNS and SJS can manifest as recurrent pulmonary infections and bronchiectasis.
