Cardiovascular disease ( CVD) remains the leading cause of death and disease worldwide, and people with type 1 or type 2 diabetes are at higher risk than the general population. Although previous studies have comprehensively analyzed the impact of diabetes on CVD, direct comparisons of CVD risk in people with T1D and T2D within each sex have been lacking. Researchers from Sweden have taken on this task.
