In a study population aged 21–82 years, a 24-week treatment with the specialized ginkgo extract EGb 761® resulted in significant improvements in tinnitus-related parameters overall. Subgroup analyses revealed that those who exhibited high levels of anxiety or stress at the start of the study benefited particularly from the ginkgo intervention. Furthermore, the treatment was more effective in tinnitus patients with normal hearing compared to those with hearing impairment. The study was published in 2025 in the Journal of Clinical Medicine.
