Chronic pelvic pain ( CPP) is a common reason for referral to gynecology departments and is commonly attributed to endometriosis. However, gastrointestinal disorders, particularly irritable bowel syndrome (IBS), have several symptoms consistent with endometriosis and can complicate the diagnostic process.
