Especially in times of the Corona pandemic, we have learned that prevention is the best therapy of any respiratory infection, because prevention measures do not only apply in the case of COVID-19, they apply to all respiratory transmissible agents in respiratory infections. Usually, these infections are self-limiting and can be treated symptomatically. In the presence of fever, however, it is important to be vigilant and to rule out differential diagnoses that may indicate a serious bacterial infection.
