Competent medical counseling can help promote acceptance of vaccinations. To this end, it is crucial to always have the most up-to-date information. The current immunization schedule includes several relevant changes compared to the previous version—not only, but also in connection with the re-approval of vaccines. Regardless of this, there are some general principles that remain valid but deserve to be emphasized once again given their importance. These include, for example, the fact that systematic monitoring of vaccination status minimizes potentially dangerous gaps in vaccination coverage.
