Patients with cardiovascular disease (CVD) are more likely to suffer severe courses of vaccine-preventable infections – and more cardiac complications such as ACS, heart failure decompensation, arrhythmias or strokes. This article summarizes the current state of evidence on influenza, SARS-CoV-2, RSV, zoster and pneumococcal vaccinations, integrates the case vignettes described in the review and focuses on numbers, risks and efficacy.
